Panther

For ease of use, Use the 3M polishes and pads.
I would (If you are new to polishing) get a 4" backing plate for the DA and use 4" pads.
A DA will not give no where near the finish of a Rotary though buddy.
But it will make the paint sharper with a touch more clarity.
Always claybar the car first after a very good and thourough wash

yes Russ but i wouldnt trust myself with a rotary. I usually finish off polishing by hand . cant remember what colour pads do what.will order new ones

I am crying now EXCITED!!!
God knows what state I will be in when I actually see Panther for real :nailbiting:
As I'd expect Stacey!! You are the biggest softie I've ever known but nothing wrong with that as I see it! I'm damned near in tears just reading your posts, so happy for you! Panther is a far cry from the car you came on forum with and just keeps getting better and better. We get by with a little help from our friends, etc, etc!! JIM

I saw some of what Russ had done so far on the car and how the bonnet looked on Saturday and to achieve a standard like this from what i saw well all i can say is amazing. @Russell O have you still only done the 2 stages on the bonnet or did you decide to give it its final stage 3 polish ?. If you have only done the second stage then to be honest that is better than amazing

Looking at that makes me want to chop in the DA I just got and get a rotary.
Not sure I can be patient enough to be trusted with a rotary but looking at that....I hardly drive the thing as much as should anymore and this would just make it worse, would be polishing all day!!!

The paint on Panther's bonnet looks like liquid Russ, bloody awesome job mate:thumbsup:. I have to go back and look at the pictures you posted on the Sterling Grey 5 series from last week now.:)

Tony.

@BMBabe I've been across to see Russell today and Panther is tucked away in the corner, couldn't take a pic as I forgot my phone:whistle: but looking good I should think you will be pleased.

Can't wait to see my Panther
Early Christmas present to myself and Panther :p:D

I'm so happy things are going so well with Panther. @ Russell O is working wonders on Panther, wish I had someone over here that could tackle Trinity. She could use a good going over by someone with Russell's talent! Drink plenty of fluids to replace those lost in tears and the one's you are about to shed!! JIM

Anytime @Russell O company is always welcome here especially those from far away! Our home has hosted Peruvian, Dutch, French, Tunisian, Japanese and Canadian students over the years. Polisher shouldn't be a problem, I have a credit card I haven't maxed out yet!! lol Can you take -40* and is that a good temp to work in for you? Do you have any experience at those temps? If not see you next summer, bring @BMBabe and @Mnbrennan with you please!! JIM

Thanks Jim,

Heat a problem for me not cold but no, got to admit not experienced -40 before.
Very warm here for the time of year, I'm sure the Earth has tilted or something.

See you next summer with wife and polisher Jim..

Not in summer mate, I'm sure Jim knows all the local Salmon spots.;)
