Why are you not allowed garage doors? Can you not ask for planning permission afterwards?

Obstructing public foot path apparently even tho it is in the corner no one would be walking past

I'm not allowed garage doors either because the council are d********! Sorry if anyone works for the council. There lovely really! :bashhead:

Wish we were allowed garage doors ;)
But their again we don't have a garage to put them on =))

No Chips, you're not!! but like you I have so much stuff in there as well, I have to put Mora on the diagonal, to tuck Monty in the space that's left!!!
Mike
My only way of getting two in there Mike is straight in, straight out. I have 'fisheye' mirrors on the back wall which allow me to see the front of the cars as they come right up to my my lawn mower at one side and a old bed frame and a fridge freezer at the other. To close the doors there's about fag paper gap at the front and passenger side but 'touch wood' the mirrors make it quite easy to gauge.

Needs a sort out but who's doesn't?

Couldn't you have "up and over" doors? There wouldn't be any obstruction then. Best of luck in your new home

I did ask but the lady said no but she also said after other developments had finished people started to put on doors
Still a long way to go before I move in

Can you not go with overhead doors Stacey? They come in many different styles and don't infringe on the public in any way whatsoever. And can be motorized to open with remote controls!! JIM

What about roll up doors Stacey. they don't come out at all when you open or close them!
M & S

Well Stacey, three great minds thinking alike so it's gotta be the solution. Be the first on your block and watch everyone else jump on board. Trend setter Extrordinaire!! I'll be with you in spirit tomorrow! JIM

Agree with you on this, only problem is roller type do tend to be more expensive and take up considerable headroom which is why I went for up and over and this can be parked up to, to a distance of 3 ft., but if it's the only way it's got to be worth pursuing. With doors on, a garage becomes another "room" which at least can be secure.

Tony.

Update!!

Why don't we get everyone in the forum to send them a "nice" letter to persuade them. Perhaps I can send them one postmarked from New Jersey making them an offer they can't refuse. Frankie at work.
