Thanks for the info and the link @Antm72 - I'm in Worksop and got a few small car park dents in the Z3 that have been bugging me for ages.

No excuse now :-) Cheers

Stacey, when I worked in the trade we used a guy called Keith Baines. Nothing flash, just a guy in a car with a mirror and a bag of rods. He used to charge £25 a panel regardless of now many dents were in each. He was very good. If you've not sorted anything by the time you come up maybe we can organise meeting him when you stop over.:)

Hi all

Update for you

Met with Craig.

Nice guy.

He removed the big dent on my bonnet/wing plus the one on the boot lid that was really annoying me.
He also found 12 other dents I hadn't really noticed and sorted them. Including taking door card off etc he was on it for 1.5 hours and charged me£140.00

More than I was expecting but great results!

All I've gotta do now is machine polish her up, get seats dyed and replace rear window or complete hood.

Anyone know anybody for seats or window/hood in the area?

Glad you got the result you wanted far cheaper than a bodyshop i know.
Brought a polisher from Aldi today and have G3'd the entire car and removed 95% of the swirls and light marks it had . Polish and a wax tomorrow and should look fantastic.
A good polish does wonders and a good wax even more.
Pics when your all clean then Dobbo ? :)

Will take some pics once polished up if I can figure how to upload them.

What polisher did you buy?
I could do with a G3 as has some swirls etc that I want to get out from previous owners poor attemp.

The polisher was just your average two handled polisher but it is dual action and spins at only 3200 rpm so its pretty safe was in aldi at £15.
Used this to remove the swirls...

Had it a while but if i remember correctly it was from Halfords.
Does a good job have just done the work horse a black Rav4 and its removed the fine swirls and some of the deeper scratches but have aired on the side of caution in going to heavy with it.
Have done the bonnet on the zed along with the boot and a few other panels has made a nice job of that too the paints alot smoother and ready for a good polish .

Dobbo, that's a good price mate. Don't feel you've been had with that. The difference these guys make is incredible with any paint or mess. We used to be charged £25 a panel in the trade regardless of the amount of dents. So if your average 4 door saloon has 10 panels there's £250. You did well!:mad:

Oh and to my total dismay, yesterday @jue1 spotted 2 big dents in the top of my boot lid. i know how it's happened. When I had the car painted the body shop never got the boot catch quite right and I have to slam it to close it. @billz had a go at adjusting it for me last year which improved it but obviously over time constantly slamming it has weakened the metal. Gutted! I'll have to get our local guy out now.. Oh and any advice on which way to go with the adjustment would be much appreciated tar. :)

I have two mild dents center boot just as it reaches the edge caused by exactly the same thing .. unfortunatly he advised he could not remove them as the panel has a big reinforcing bar there and its impossible to get the rods in.....
The only thing i have seen that may resolve it is a hot glue puller they are cheap to buy and im sure it would resolve but then not sure if i want to stick hot glue to the zeds paint!!!!
Saying that no vid i have watched using the tool has caused any issues to paint i may invest it depends how much they niggle me.
The dent guy advised its a common thing as the lids get pressed to shut but demonstrated its a firm push from height and it shuts with out the need.
Mine doesn't click shut if lightly closed but as he showed me shut fine, not sure on adjustment though as not looked to be honest but i imagine the adjustment to be in the reciever not the catch in the lid and then it will be slight on its mounting screws similar to the door slam catches

Dave if it is not shutting then you will need to work out if it is not shutting due to it being to far forward or to far back for it to latch, move it towards you and see if that improves if not then start adjusting it backwards, i am afraid it is trial and error untill you get it to latch.. But just do it a bit at a time.
