Oxford's Bloody Roads Hurt My Zed :(

After a really busy day, doing various errands with my Z4M running perfectly, I had to pop into a local shop for some trim removal tools as I had finally gotten the bits I needed to have my car all perfect. Dad and I were in the car and the last bit of road was bumpy as hell and with two full sized blokes in my car, it really hit the potholes hard. Didn't notice any difference in noise when I pulled up on the drive.

I started the car up this evening about an hour ago and was shocked at how loud it seemed. Anyway as I got some petrol and had parked up to meet some car buddies, I got out of the car and had a listen. Seems there must be a gap at one of the joints before the backbox, as it now sounds like the car is bloody straight piped! Drove straight home, as I've got some bad history with the younger couple next door and it took years before they finally started being nice neighbours again. Last thing I want is to wake up their young kids and wind them up that they get angry at me with THIS car! One reason why I choose a BMW over another Scooby, was it was not going to be so antisocial that I get labeled as the street's ASBO once more

I meant to be having a YouTuber who does a lot of content on Z4's review my Z4M this Sunday, so the last thing I need is for it to be flipping off the road waiting to get dealt with. I hope it just needs tightening up, but luck is not something I am use to when it comes to repair work with my cars.

Dad thinks it's a baffle that had gone, which makes more sense, as I can hear so rattling and is in line with it sounding like it's straight piped

Some roads I won't go on because of the potholes, and if I need to I go very carefully

Found out a clamp that joins the rear backbox to the mid section of the exhaust has broke and the dealer is going to replace it on my warranty for me next week.

That'll teach you to drive around in Oxford. Was bad enough 20-odd years ago when I was last there, almost as if they didn't want people driving there. The trouble we had trying to get to where we were going, every time we got near we wound up heading back out of town again.
Glad it was only a clamp after all, that's what the warranty was for.

With the make up of how the city is run, they are very anti car and that's putting it lightly. It seems most roads are made up of billiard table smooth cycle and bus lanes, then the rest is full of potholes and speed bumps. I live in Headington and there are some of the worst roads I've ever come across in all my life and travels.

Next year me and my folks are hoping to finally move away from Oxford and head up north and closer to some truly amazing driving roads.
