If they have paid circa £10K for a top notch 2.8 in the best colour, think its not unreasonable. :)

It was up for £20k. I doubt they got it half price.

Not necessarily so ...
  • going by the picture it looked like a lot of money was spent to make it pristine and I'm sure Eastern wouldn't risk their reputation on a poor quality car
  • maybe they're hoping it will be a future classic and increase in value ~ who knows?
  • they're going to be in a Z3 ~ think of the enjoyment they'll get from driving it

So the all-seeing algorithm brought me here and I'm happy it did, because I have to correct a serious factual error in this thread:

Only one of us is officially the most stupid person in Scotland: the car was a present :)

(PS I hope Eastern BMW continue to restore modern classic BMW's like this very much loved piece of automotive art)

We do have a habit of talking down the value of our cars..and then wonder why they are not appreciating. The FB page is the worst for it. Prices on the continent are generally much higher and probably where ours should be.

About 50mil potential buyers for a RHD car VS mostly the rest of the world for a LHD one define the market value.
Also rust, ulez, taxes...
