Going to London for the first time in 32 years ,a friend of mine is the head chef in a “club” on pal mall I’ve never been to one before we have to be on our best behaviour (no grapper) he’s put his faith in us as I think it’s a bit posh lol.any advice will be considered;) .this is the place http://www.athenaeumclub.co.uk/ wish me luck

I which case mate best be on your best behaviour. I personally like a more "down to earth" affair. I would feel a bit uncomfortable myself but that's just me.

I’m not sure how I’m going to feel as I’ve never been before.im a club virgin;)
 
Should be in good company .im not sure what I’m going to bring to the table except an appetite ......We are proud of the high distinction of many of our number, proudest perhaps of those, past and present who have won a Nobel Prize, totalling over fifty-two at the last count, including at least one in each category of the prize

Just treat everybody as you would wish to be treated Hugh:thumbsup: ,but don't 'pre-load' too much before your dinner, especially on Grappa;). Just enjoy the occasion.

And if you go in the Z don't be doing doughnuts outside the Gaff.;)
