Tissington is quite near me, but I avoid the ford with my Z3. Over the years I've seen quite a few people regret splashing through there when a stone has come adrift and they suddenly get a nasty bang under the car! The stones are big and when they get washed out there is also the hole left. It often happens after the winter or other times when the water flow is heavier.
