When I go out in my Zed, I sometimes have the impression that other car drivers are so jealous that they have it in for my car.
well on Tuesday a driver of a Mini did just that, he was so dazzled by the beauty of my Zed, that he drove off the road momentarily. As he woke up and and wrestled with the steering wheel to get his car back onto the road, his near side wheels kicked up a load of stones and rock. When this happens and if it has happened to you, you will know that feeling of utter despair, as these missiles hurtle towards your car in slow motion. One of these rocks bounced off the bonnet of my car, hit the windscreen and carried on over the back of my car. The result is two gigantic scratches 8-10 millimetres long and a shallow depression in my otherwise pristine bonnet. To say I was incandescent with rage would be an understatement, Mrs L had to cover her ears as expletives slip from my lips at high volume.

I know how you feel it seems every time mine comes out of the garage (which isn’t that often) something happens to it 😡

Why don’t they teach people how to drive anymore, it’s not enough to learn the theory, they need experience of how to actually drive a car.

I’m so sorry to see that Mike. I suffered a similar “ hit” on my E 85. It makes you so mad when you take good care of your car.
It wont be cheap to have proper good repair done, but, neither will your gorgeous car be “all original” any more either. People just done understand that either, that it means such a lot to enthusiasts ( no pun intended).

Tony.

My goodness Mike , I’m so sorry to hear about this , you must be devastated, your car is so beautiful 🌞

That really sucks. The rage will pass and you will probably be the only one to notice the scratches. The car will still be awesome.

That’s the trouble, I just can’t unsee the damage, small as it is, every time I pass the car, my eye is drawn immediately to those scratches.

I can sympathise Mike, get it in to a decent body shop.- -

A random peble thrown up from the car in front. Narrowly missed my forehead and straight through the rear screen, having come over the windscreen.

Glass was £70, fitting £650 - glass cover on insurance priceless

I am devastated Shelly, I’ve been down in the dumps ever since it happened on Tuesday. I have now got to figure out how to get it repaired.
