You people that sit looking at a computer screens pretending to be a racing drivers, tank commanders, secret agents and what ever else you play, you really need to get out into the real world.
Meet and talk to real people, don’t put pictures of your breakfast on the internet....’cause surprise surprise no one gives a f......, and instead of upgrading your status to all the other brain dead morons, call real live friends and actually talk to someone.

I have had two granddaughters sitting about 8ft from each other texting each other but not actually talking,
My answer....I turned the bloody WiFi off. !!!!!!

Haha, I really don’t fit the stereotypical image of a gamer you are referring to - I’m actually classed as a “senior gamer” at 45. A much different reality to what your rant is aimed at - I live in the real world, worked hard in the tech industry since I left school at 16 and got a full time job. That will be 30 years next year. Just one of the ways I relax of an evening after a hard days work.

This site wouldn’t exist with the countless hours I’ve put in to it over the last 6 years; what I could have done with the time spent in front of the keyboard instead of running this place... We all live in different worlds, this is mine. You have your own, and im perfectly happy to respect how you live it.

Calm down lol!!

Said @Grumps who does not even know how to turn a computer on, has enough problems using his mobile phone .... :D

......Ok @GazHyde .....point accepted......... When I started work there was the Sinclair ZX81....didn’t understand that or anything else since .
I played LemmIngs and got to the end after 10 years of trying and wondered why I spent so many wasted hours playing it.......as for bloody Tetris !!!!!! =))

Didn't think being on the game involved computers, whatever will they think of next ?

It’s a new service - a bit like Just Eat

Me and Shirl were having conversation, or one very like it, saying what would our parents have made of this modern world, Facebook, Twitter et al. I said they would've probably ignored it totally saying they had managed to live their lives without and would manage quite well without.
I personally just don't get the whole "Gaming" thing at all but, each to their own it's a free world after all. I used to be a mad keen angler but I don't do that any more, now I spend my free time working on my car and other peoples cars some might think that a bit strange.

Tony.

I meant global shutdown.
I know where the switch is. So, the question is, who will pay the most? Leave it switched on or switch it off? :ymdevil:

In fact it is virtually impossible to switch the internet off. Technically it could be done but I suspect that any attempt my quickly be spotted.

I got my first computer and game in the 80's, ZX Spectrum or some such name? Played this golf game for nearly 24 hours and thought best get rid as I couldn't put it down and not played since. My lad is big into his X-Station thingy  good at it too where as my girls couldn't give two hoots. As for the generation thing, it's all relative to what you grow up with. I think my laptop is a Russian model as their's a button on it that says 'On/Off' =))

You're spot on Andy. As kids we all.fished, played football, went on spontaneous bike rides or hung out smoking 10 No.6 etc. But we all did things together including the girls our age. Things change but I've never had any love for electronic games at all.

Tony.
