Operation date

Wishing you all the best Shelly, I’m sure the post op discomfort will be nothing in comparison to what you’re experiencing now. My wife had this done 17 years ago and was all good.

I'm due for cataract surgery. Not thrilled with the thought of someone cutting into my eyes, but the Dr. said my vision would be about 20/40 after it's finished, so I'm ready to get on with it...
You’re in safe hands @DelGue

I had the Carpal Tunnel op a few years ago on my right hand/wrist, used to keep me awake at night so I can sympathise with your pain. Op was very quick, less than 30 mins if I recall. I was driving fairly quickly afterwards and I've had no problem since then.
Only now problem is my left hand/wrist has started to occasionally give me the same symptoms. :(

Do you reckon the op eliminates CP?
I’ve lived my career using computers and am wondering if this is something I’ll have to contend with. Isn’t CP the old repetitive strain injury? I don’t know.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery after the op.

( I thought the Carpel Tunnel was a subterranean route to get from Great Yarmouth to Norwich )

Not shortly after I qualified I was doing a temp assignment at the eye hospital in Birmingham in the mid 90’s I was quite taken back then! On how quick the surgery was and the results for badly effected patients was “remarkable” feedback from a sufferer who had put up with near blindness. Lens tech must have moved on quite a bit since then apart from the unpleasantness of the local I’m confident it will make such a difference for you. Best wishes on a good experience.

Fingers crossed for a quick recovery Shelly. My mother in law has had both wrists done and it did take a few weeks before she could drive again etc, she did suffer with terrible pains and although it didnt 100% cure it she is a lot better after having them done.

The pain is so bad :(
Sometimes I want to cut my hand off it’s so bad :(
On Saturday night I got about a hour and half’s sleep if I was lucky , I was in bed Sunday night just after 6 , as I was so tired :)

Yes it is repetitive strain injury :)

That could be a laugh if it's as good as predictive texting :p

Think I’ll just use the other hand and do it slowly :p

Hope all goes well on Monday. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sue & Ian.

Thanks! The Dr. with whom I consulted has been doing them for years, and when I left I felt very confident it'll go well. I have friends who have had the surgery done by him, and they highly recommend both him and the process. Just something "scary" when it involves the eyes...:)

Best of luck Shelley. Hope it all goes well and you are soon back in Snow White where you belong.

Thank you @Dalek :p
I can’t wait till Monday as I’m in so much pain :(
I’m going to come home after the op and have a sleep to try and catch up on some as I haven’t slept for months lol

I was recommended a vertical mouse by the Doc, CP disappeared over night.

Mines gone too far for that :(
I can’t do anything without so much pain even brushing my teeth , holding a pen , holding a fork , anything is too painful for me to do , it’s like the whole of my arm to my elbow is in electric shock when I more it , even sleeping is painful

CPS is very painful. Only months of rest might see some improvement without surgical intervention. My ex employer panicked a little when I had symptoms. Complete workplace assessment even though it was essentially a new office with all mod cons. Hope the surgery is effective and recovery rapid.
