Borrowed from MSN. Expensive error or what?

Tony.

A friend of mine bought a cheap speedboat a few years ago. He took it somewhere on the Thames estuary to launch it and left his land rover and trailer on the slipway. He didn't realise it was tidal when he came back the land rover was under water.

£100,000?

I can never understand why owners take there cars, especially newish ones like this, down onto the beach. Apparently there were passengers in this vehicle aswell so what was going on there, fast asleep, too young to realise what was happening. What will be the insurance situation, car write off or recommissioning. What do you tell your insurance company how it happened especially when its plastered all over the internet.

The only mention of passengers is in the clickbait headline, and from the looks of it the car wasn't swept out to sea, the tide came in while it was parked on the beach. That won't be the only tidal car-park around, as anyone that's ever been to Port Isaac will know. Still not a good idea to leave it out there when the tide comes in, but there's no known cure for stupidity.
