Hi all,

I’ve been wanting a Z3 for several years now. I haven't really actively searched for one as I already have a Rover Mini in the garage to keep me occupied but I still yearn for a Z3.

I’m based in South Cambridgeshire, although I will travel almost anywhere for the right car. I definitely require an automatic and it will need to be at least the 2.2 but preferably the 2.8.

Now I need to start reading the forums to learn a little more about the Z3, what to look out for when buying and the differences between models/years etc.

Welcome. I have a 2.8 and it's superb, the torque is great. Don't dismiss the 2.2. On paper only 23bhp behind but little difference in the straights when booted. The 2.2 sport would be a good option for you to look into further.

:welcome: Dylan from another happy 2.8 owner.
I agree with @Grumps, the 2.2's are a good choice and have a better exhaust note.
Good luck with your search.
We travelled from Nottingham to near Bude in Cornwall for ours, as it was the right one for us.

Steve.

Hi and welcome from London, I have a 2.8 pre face lift. Your choice can also depend on body styles personally I wanted the original wide body only available on mk1
