I didn’t have to pay anything ..:), the wife paid 150 euros including delivery from a Danish company called KoedBMW.
It’s being despatched tomorrow so hopefully should arrive Friday/ Monday.

It’s less than half the price of a new one from the local dealer.

Update...being fitted today. When I received the sump it had a stud sheared off in one of the gearbox mounting holes. Because of it Koed who were really apologetic about it, refunded 50 euros and I sorted it locally and had a helicoil fitted. Its not the best start to owning a Z3, but what the hell, there are a lot worse things happening in the world!

Sump replaced. And no leaks so far !!!!!
Bit paranoid, as I keep checking......but that’s in my nature. I put an Essex Flange in the Hot water cylinder last week and new shower pump....and I keep checking to make sure it’s not leaking. Obviously no confidence in my ability as I get older!!!!
I have put the old sump in for a repair (welding and sleeving) so if any one needs one let me know.
BMW part number 11131247995. Apparently if fits a number of different models

Remember to always to use the correct washer in future, copper I think, then just nip the plug tight to the correct torque setting, the reason for the copper washer is that because as the hot oil heats up the sump and the plug, they expand at a different rate than the washer so as the oil and sump heat up the sump plug actually seals tighter the hotter it gets. It's also a good idea to use a magnetic plug then when you change the oil you check the plug is free of any minute metal particles indicating a problem elsewhere.
Forgive the crudeness of my explanation but I'm a mechanical fitter not a technical author.
Best wishes

The replacement sump was fitted with a new sump plug with copper washer. I also changed the filter at the same time and the filter kit came with a copper washer as well, so I have a spare now.

Just a couple of low pressure power steering hoses to change now....and hopefully that should be it for a while !!!

One thing I have bought is the BMW Z3 work shop manual published by Bentleys. Bit expensive but does give a lot of useful info....just have to translate it from American into English. :p
