Each to there own Ian.

I'm just a man who like the car as it was built!
So do I it is just I have an opportunity to get a set of LM's which I think still keeps the classic looks. I know where you are coming from though ;)

I thought about new wheels at one point Wayne. The M rears are the pain as not many fitments are avalible that will fit it correctly. I know Bmautosport do a set of LM reps that will fit the M. The rears are 9.5" and 20ET

mmmmm I've got these stored somewhere (must try to remember where I put them lol)

Brand new in Z3m fitment ;-)

Front 18x8 ET40
Rears 18x10 ET18

Fronts:

Rears:

Front and Rears:

A set of 18's fitted to a Z3m Coupe to give you an idea of them fitted.

They where never officially made in Z3m fitment so I had to source x2 e36 fronts from Germany and x2 e39 rears from Turkey (of all places)

Rare and brand new these cost me all of c£500 (from memory but remarkably cheap)

You can also get them in 17 inch which actually exaggerates the dish even more.

I think I'll be trying these on the Z3m next year if I can bear to remove the Schnitzer Type II Race !

You just need to a) look outside the UK and b) buy part sets / be prepared to buy two sets to sell one set on ie one set of e36 for the front and one set of e39 for the rear. Even then you will need a spacer for the rears but anything around ET20 is only a 10-15mm spacer so you don't loose much dish. If you can get them in 10inch width you can put more rubber down.

There where very very few sets made in Z3m fitment as even Schnitzers where just a mixed set of 3 and 5 series made up at the factory to a Z3m set so you usually need a spacer anyway. The exception was the Schnitzer Type II Race 3 piece wheels which had ET9 rears from factory. But as these retailed at £4.5k over 10 years ago not many where sold and so very rare ;-)

If you go 3 piece wheels (eg LM's) you can reverse mount the centres to lower the ET.

That's as close as you will get I expect, will require a spacer still.
