Thank you @miller1098! That brought tears to my eyes it was so touching! It reminded me of all the wonderful people I've met during our travels in Europe and in particular Holland, Belgium and France that bought us drinks and meals when they found out we were Canadian.
HT: as Bob and Dave would say " HOSER" !! JIM

Bless his cotton socks if that was my lad I'd be very proud of him.

What respect from a small child.

The treatment Canadians get is overwhelming especially in Holland! It comes from the old, young and all in between. They all have a story to tell about their rescue by Canadian troops and liberation from the German Armies passed down from generation to generation. Our family is proud of all the members that joined in the action to rid the world of German atrocities. Fortunetly all returned home without any deaths or wounds other than the mental pictures that would never leave their heads and of which they rarely spoke. Let's all pray we don't have to go through another war like WWII and thanks to all of the worlds armed forces that are trying to keep us safe from the terrors of the world these days, JIM

"First Canadian Army was international in character. In addition to the 2nd Canadian Corps (which included the 2nd and 3rd Canadian Infantry Divisions, and the 4th Canadian Armoured Division), the 1st British Corps, and the 1st Polish Armoured Division, at various times American, Belgian, and Dutch soldiers were also included as units".

Agree totally HT and also included were many members of the underground forces providing intel as well as backing up the fire power. Wasn't negating the contributions of those other forces just stating my own experiences with the Dutch population as a Canadian that I had the privilege of meeting. JIM

How about this?........

Sonny Bill Williams Explains Why He Gifted His World Cup Medal To A Young Supporter

"I was walking around doing a lap of honour with the boys and a young fella came running out and he got smoked by the security guard, like full on tackled him. I felt sorry for the little fella.

He would have been eight or seven, I kind of felt sorry for him. It will be a night that he remembers hopefully".

Nice touch.

What a great thing to do for the young fellow! May be just the inspiration to keep him shooting to be just like his hero! JIM
