Off to see the inlaws

Hi Connor, I seem to remember that @billz and @MAURICE THE MARTIAN may be planning a euro cruise either for next year or maybe the one after.

Tony.
Ahhhh well that sounds good, hoping to get out to Florida next year! Been wanting to go for ages but never really got round to it, the GF is desperate to go to the Harry Potter thing at universal.

Connor.

Not been to any of the parks for 8 years now. Too mad for my liking but that's what Orlando is all about.

Tony.

How much have you spent on fuel for the trip Steven? I really want to plan a euro trip, maybe just round France for the first time but nonetheless want to have a drive on the continent.
On our Euro trip this year to Lake Como in the Z4 we used about 70 gallons - about £300 and we did just over 2,600 miles.

Last year to Andorra in the Z3 we used about 60 gallons - about £325 and did about 2,000 miles.

We did about 1100 miles and spent about £200 on fuel which i am happy with for the type of car it is,there was a fair amount of motorway and dual carriage way cruising though, not dropping much below 70mph. I think the cruise control helps a lot with that kind of driving though.
Driving abroad is great.you'd enjoy it @Connor,once you get used to driving on the right hand side of the road....having said that,on the way to Roscoff ferry port yesterday i took a wrong turn and momentarily ended up on the wrong side of the road ! luckily it was quiet so drama's

Looks like you've had a fantastic time Steven. So jealous! Pics and videos are great. In laws place looks like just the sort of think we'd like when we're ready to make the move across. The French roads are sublime to ours now days. Can't wait to get back again, we were planning on next summer again but with us going to Dubai in March I can't see the money stretching to two trips abroad so may well have to wait a year.

Thanks dave,it was good. It took the in-laws a good 10 years to get the place to how it is now, when they 1st got it there was barely a roof, mud floors,no electric, water or sanitation....but 5 grand for 15 acres 20 years ago mind.
So every chance they had they'd travel over there to work on the place in the Siera with a trailer loaded with tools and equipment and live in a caravan on site,we would go as well in our car to help out and take a tent to sleep in.
Looking back it was hard work and not the best way to spend your holiday leave when your in your early twenties but we had some good laughs .
We even rigged up a make shift electric shower powered from a generator once the water service was installed,we drove a wooden post into the ground out side and fixed the shower to it,put a pallet on the floor to stand on so you weren't stood in a muddy pool of water it worked a treat.:D
