ODB2 adapter

Hi..does anyone have a recommendation for an under bonnet ODB2 adapter cable. The cheap Chinese one I bought would only ever read the engine module and today it won’t read anything at all - comms error. Tried it on 2 zeds plus everything doused in contact cleaner, so must be the cable. Using a C310.
All the ones on Amazon and eBay look the same as mine
