"What an amazing road", Rev. Where is it. Mike said straight away, "I'd love to drive it"

Sorry I've been away so I haven't been able to reply to the thread.

It's a place thats called Col D'Izoard or The Casse Desert. I found the road by googling and Google Earthing along various routes. It's a stunning area and a really nice drive. Lots of Motor bikes which are a bit of a pain, but they probably say the same about the cars!

This is very roughly the location of the pic.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=co...ei=qLxiUufZD4PAhAeW6YCACQ&sqi=2&ved=0CIgBELYD

We started from St. Veran that morning and headed to Jardin Alpin du Lautaret via The Casse Desert. Then on to Talloires via the D902. If you have a look at the D902 at Jardin Alpin you'll see the views. My wife darent look out the car for about five miles... It was pretty scary stuff, but we both thought it was the best drive ever.

If you fancy doing the drive and want any more information let me know and I'll tell you all the details.

Heres a picture I took without cars, you feel as if you're on top of the world!

Now you've told us all where it is Rev, there will be a queue of Z's motoring down that road. What a lovely thought!:):coolsteer) One for the bucket list.

Frankie, great pic but your boot rack is on the wrong way round......
I do not think so according to BMW. The idea is to keep the luggage on the sloping rack not to protect the window as many people think.:)

Well, it would be a pain in the back side to fit the BMW OEM suitcase (which I
have) with it on that way round. This is a real old chestnut......!!!!!

That's the reason for the Roll Over hoops, Mike & Frankie, so you don't end up with the Wife's lingerie round your ears instead!!! Hold that thought!!!:D

Just a quick question: In the box below your name is the word 'dedicated'. I've seen this on others also. What does this refer to? (I'm still a little new here).

Frankie,

It just refers to how long you've been around and the number of posts you've made.

Stay around and enjoy... you'll soon become a legend!... or a leg end as my kids would say. :)

Just be welcome and enjoy.

Rev, as long as your doing the teaching, perhaps there is something you could help me with. I've noticed that as people respond to threads, others watching and reading them respond to them, sometimes rather quickly. After posting something, I have to go back up to the start of the post and open it up again to see what the responses are and seeing only one at a time. Must do this to see each incoming response. Or I look at the alerts. I must be missing something. Isn't there a way to see the new responses as they come in without all that work?

It's always difficult trying to keep up to date on a thread which is being replied to regularly! You can press 'refresh' (F5 on your keyboard) while you are reading a thread, and that will display any new posts.

Personally I sit looking at the "What's New" page, but the alerts/emails when a thread gets updated also help.
