I have an OBD2 bluetooth dongle for my 5-series and use the Bimmerlink and Bimmercode apps. My Z3 doesn't have an OBD2 port (that I am aware of? '99 1.9).

So I bought this 20-16pin adapter thinking this is what I needed. I tried to use it today, and it's clearly not the right thing. In addition, I have been trying to follow instructions to reset the service indicator by jumping pins 7 and 19 - but my 20 pin port does not look the same as the one in the videos and links.

Can anyone tell explain why mine is different, and any information on the right kind of adapter for an OBD2 socket, and/or how to reset the service indicator with this type of port?

Thanks in advance!

That's not the diagnostic pac man socket look over the other side of the engine bay it's probably over there looking similar to those two junction ports but will have sockets instead of pins.

Thats the wrong plug yours will be opposite side of engine bay beside strut turret.
