Why does the project car that I purchased feel as though I sit lower, the car is more planted and generally just very different? The car is standard, I thought it was lowered but now I'm not convinced and everything else is stock.
It's quite odd the difference in feel between the two cars!

Neither of the cars look lowered as said it could just be the seats and driving position.

I think that might be Lee, they do feel "different" some how.

I have to admit I think the 17's ride better than the 18's

No mate neither has anything out of the ordinary. I think the standard seats are a fair bit lower.

Standard seats are different in fit and feel its more likely the answer.

Have you measured the height to the wheel arches from the ground on both cars to see if there is any difference in ride height?
Have you entered the chassis numbers of both cars into the " How to find the options specified with your Z roadster" VIN de coder to see if either had Sport Suspension as standard?

How does it feel from the passenger side! Could be the standards are sagging a bit from use by a heavier owner in its before life?? JIM

Like you, I have two zeds, both made in the same year, same engine, almost same options and the vin numbers are almost consecutive, bloke at bmw asked whether I'd bought the two cars together...

Anyway, despite all of this the cars feel vastly different. Like you my project car feels like it's handles better. I think that the lives the cars will have had play a part in this. Of course like others have said, the seat and the wheels could also be the case.

The difference could well be difference between knackered and totally knackered bushes and shocks. Makes a massive difference. These cars can handle like a TVR (in a bad way) when all that is worn and feel totally different when fresh.
