Ha ha years ago I bought a half customised Mk1 Escort van as I wanted the rebuilt 1600GT engine and 2000E gearbox out of it, it was jacked up at the rear with wide steel wheels on it, had side pipes, roof air horns, beetle indicators on the roof, green disco lights underneath and in the fake bonnet scoop, fur dash and a leather bound shirt button for a steering wheel., it was hideous , this photo reminded me of it. ..................
I still drove it around for a few weeks until my Dad totally forbade me to park it outside the house. Wish I had some photos of it though

I think that idea died a death due to the conflict between lowered cars and neon tubes. Now, you could use bright LED strips perhaps . . . . . . . ?
