Providing the driver is ok, that’s all that matters.
Any car, whether a Smartcar or a Roller, is only tin, plastic and rubber and can be replaced.

The roof would have been cut off by the fire brigade.
Hence the title.

Was once told a story by a traffic cop who was on duty on the M6 one night.
The traffic stopped on the section where they were parked observing when a car with driver and passenger came barrelling up to the queue. They knew it wasn’t going to stop. It skidded and went clean under a lorry and the roof torn straight off. They thought they’d witnessed a fatal and started dealing.
It very quickly became apparent though that not one but both in the car had miraculously survived.
After a tricky rescue from the wreckage they discovered that both had pressed so hard into their seats that the seat backs had given way and they were laid on the back seats neither having suffered serious injury.

Later the police conducted tests to discover that the seats only needed about 80lb of force to push the seat backs backwards.
If that hadn’t happened it would have been another news story.

Of course, with electric seats nowadays that wouldn’t be possible.

Carrying on from Redline's tale...

I was going to school on the coach and we were held up by an accident. A car had gone under an artic. It was in the days when Frank Spencer could be articulated on his roller skates. It was also in the days before snowflakes (like a 13 year old me) were protected from seeing the consequences of an accident.

It has stuck with me for 40 years:wtf:
