Me and Deano are doing it on Saturday. Deano and Pingu did a lot of it last year too when they were doing the chase the sun challenge.
Yeh, was speaking to Gary last sun, looks like were gonna miss each other,
Enjoy yr trip bud, I've ordered a fuel tanker to follow Deano, lol,

Thats a shame - would have been good to join up..

ha ha re the Deano comment - I've ordered some octane booster which I am hoping is going to be turning up on time as there is no super unleaded north of Inverness !!

I've got a little 125cc scooter which I usually fill with super unleaded.

Last fill up had to put normal 95 stuff in, noticeable difference for the scooters mere 10bhp.

In a single run no, but individual runs yes, I did The Inverness to Wick and back last week as I needed to visit Wick for work. I did the sunset challenge with Deano and Pingu last year, the point D to E is something else.

Some of the best roads you will ever drive :)

How did you go on for super fuel? Talking with Gary he advises to stop often for normal fuel and then add the octane to boast the fuel up to 98/99

Luckily my car is not fussy so no issue on high octane fuel, just fill up when you can and carry a space 10l in a can to get you out of trouble if needed.

Thats about our speed on the Derbys Cruise without the x4 =))

I did mostly that trip on my motorbike, I realy enjoyed it, the west coast is quite rugged, and a lot of the time the roads are deserted, but be wary of the suicidal sheep! petrol up around durness was quite expensive, my bike has a 30litre tank, which at 45-50mpg was ok, I would say its a trip worth doing, its fun to do.
