Need a new project! It's lambing time on the farm and it's really busy,Just the time our accountant calls around. He sees no future for small family farms after the Brexit disaster, what he said was get a proper job that pays or diversify. So this is the latest plan and @hard top is going to love this .our daughter is getting married in May so we are making the wedding in the "sheep shed" so if you have a daughter or son ask the how the would feel having a reception in the sheep shed ,I've started making tables an benches,I'm hoping most of the sheep will be out before May or we will have a few extra guests. Its going to be rustic lol

Brilliant idea Hugh, diversity is not a new thing but it is certainly getting fully investigated these days . Good luck.

Tony.

Lol yes,it would be great if a family farm could generate enough income to sustain a life in the country, but like everything else it's getting more industrial an mechanised and I'm not arguing against it ,but I'm a little more worried as to what our countryside will look like and with less of a community, schools, shops and villages

Hope your health gets easier soon Hugh. Are the holiday lets doing ok?

Yes really good ,Luckily Sarah is in charge and can keep me in the lifestyle I'm accustomed too .I just find it hard like many people I my situation in different industries and bussnes that have put generations of work into it,that really your not wanted .In some ways it's our own fault for not speaking up when rich people I won't call them "farmers"can by up land just to get money.Always helped by our government. And the poor view the public gets from a few in the industry that think because they work hard they have more rights, lots of people work hard and in shitier places.Got to say I'm disappointed but probably knew it was coming, since the miners who in reality couldn't compete with cheap imports the same for textiles, potteries and steel. The vote last year has just brought forward the clock.Someone will get rich propbably investors in Argentinian beef ranches or the Chinese who are buying vast ranches in Australia,Frankie and I drove past a cattle yard in Texas that was 5 miles long we can't compete:(.There is a shortage of liquid egg in this country 200 32000 bird units but I really don't want to be a chicken factory.I like sheep and cows ,I know their names and I and I know their parents names and I like looking after them it's hard to change it's in my blood.

Good luck with the venture Hugh hope all goes well for it and your health.
Enjoy France

That's a really nice idea ,but our farm is on a mountain in mid Wales but I really like showing people around but I can't see enough customers up here.We had a local guy that went around with a bunch of his pigs doing pig racing, but he ate his best pig lol.Its so hard to start a business with the public and animals there are so many rules and regulations.for public safety and animal welfare and quite rightly

Progress is not always good...
Hugh, at least you're a man with idea and positive attitude; that will sort you out!
Take care of your health and enjoy the biking ! And keep up the good work for the wedding!
