Just changed over my number plate lights and side lights. Went to do the boot light and there was no bulb in. So put my new led in and nothing.
Could it be that my Lhs tail light is out? Recently discovered ha..??

If replacing with a led try turning it around and fitting it, led's are polarity fussy.
If the bulb was missing in the first place it may be previous owner removed it as it wouldn't turn off when boot closed, check the switch for it in the boot latch, its a plunger that a spike on the lid fits in when closed. Also check with a test lamp or meter if you get 12v at the bulb connections with the boot open.
People check if the light turns off when boot closed by putting their phone camera in the boot and filming for a short while, play it back to see if it extinguishes.

Check the fuse first and then you can check the light by pushing the plunger arrowed in this picture. Put a meter across the contacts and operate the plunger.

Tried the light both ways. No luck.
As I went to pull it out it flickered once but stayed out.
Not sure what the loom of doom entails but I've heard slot of people mention it.
How can I check it it's the loom or not?
Tbh i dont think it really bothers me I don't use the car on evenings so I may just be chasing an issue for the sake of it.
Hmm.

If it has it's own fuse Davy I would remove it because if the wire in the loom is broken and still "live" it could short out. Something similar happened to @Dino D car

Sorry Davy, and I don't have a car to look at any more. I can look on autodata tomorrow. What year is your car mate. I would say that the red/white wire at the boot light is the live feed wire, so if you open up the loom where it comes out at the n/s boot hinge look for a red/white wire damaged.

The fuse covers the interior light so it's not a fuse. Think I'll pop it back in without a bulb and leave it. Anyone know what these snipped wires are from?

Speaker wires.
If the boot loom is the cause of the non working boot light it won't be long before your central locking starts playing up down to broken wires in the loom. Best strip the loom open and have a good look at the indfividual wires and repair any that are broken or weak.

My central locking has been playing up for months. Only the passenger door. New actuator does the same. So could be the cause.
It sounds like a very big pain to check them all urgh. How will I know if they are broken down inside?
