Yep, Jeff aint too pleased to say the least. Just the waiting game now.

Yes I do have legal cover, so there could be some interesting times ahead then. The trouble is the person who hit me wasn't the real cause of the accident, and don't see why he should have to face any bills. Its the person who hit him initially I'd like to put through the wringer, do to his carelessness. Which it was, no excuse from him whatsoever - his passenger even said at the time that he said 'car' to him - and then said by then it was too late.

Cant get hold of anyone today at insurance co. So will have to wait until Monday.
It's all against the person who caused the accident. Your car is collateral damage caused by that initial carelessness. It sounds like the driver of the GTR did everything he could to prevent serious injury and the other insurer should respect that and not cause either of you any loss whatsoever. 100% responsibility and not a knock for knock claim.

I'm thinking like for like tbh, looking around it what else do you get ? Bang per buck there's not a lot to touch it on performance, running costs aren't too bad considering, and depreciation is nearly nothing - had it 6 years and lost around £1500, and they are appreciating atm.

What else is on the market currently, not talking new but reason 2nd hand ?

Agreed its going to be interesting, just hope it goes the right way.

Agreed, in that class it's on its own by a Country mile. My Sister had one, mental!

Ooh! Ouch!

Have to agree about the car. Must be so disappointing to see it damaged like that :(

It was, but it was also seeing the GTR.
Folks like on here take pride in their cars so they mean more - and when one gets broken understandably we feel the pain, collectively.

thank you for your advice and input, certainly food for thought and a good place to start.

Feel sick Toby seeing that!
I can't imagine what is in your heart....
Not even being on the wheel...terrible!:(:(:(

Well quick update on this - insurance co. engineer rang me tonight to inform that the car will be a total loss write off :(
He then proceeded to tell me what the book price was - I politely declined the offer after picking myself up from laughing - only about 8k less than similar are selling for !!

Seems there's going to be some fun now - I've told him they will need to sue the 3d party for the remainder, and the costs of respray and paint colour, he understands and will pass on the info.

Not happy to say the least - especially when he wished me a good Christmas !!!

If it doesn't rain it pours mate. Sadly some punters would be naive enough to accept the first offer. Best of luck.

Insurance engineer low balling? That's unusual. I guess he needs to keep their losses down, but it's frustrating having to dance around with them.
