Christ mate, that's bad. You OK? Real shame about your motor

Bloody hell mate are you ok

I'm fine thanks, sat in the office when I heard the bang :( The GTR works just down from us his will be written off, full airbag deploy and crushed rear wings, door panels and at least one rear axle smashed poss both. Hes fine though although dazed when he got out.

Stace - going to be an insurance nightmare, as there's still an on going claim for previous damage. Just wondering where to go from here :(

Jeeze mate I can't believe that. I can't imagine how you must be feeling about that Toby.:( Shirl can't believe either.

Tony.

Christ, that looks like you took a right hit.....:(

When the insurance pays out, don't by a Lotus Evora, my brother had one and apart from the Toyota Camry engine the car was carp...

What a disaster! Hope no one is injured!

Oh no way
Not come across this before
Who is dealing with your claim your insurance or the third party?

My insurance, luckily regarding the other claim is in house as we were both with the same co.
GTR owner owns a garage on the next block from us and know him well - the other driver was at school with, and haven't seen him since then. Was an idiot then and seems he still is - didn't even look before he pulled out. Got cctv coverage of it all.

Always good to have camera footage mate. I was close to needing mine tonight, as I left Carholme roundabout the Christmas Market traffic was queued back past Long Leys rd. and I had an idiot pull out of there, blind, straight in front of me. Was glad I'd done those brake hoses.

Tony.

Sorry to see this Toby. Hopefully you'll get the insurance sorted without to much of a problem but we all know that's unlikely. (Sorry Stacey) Main thing is all concerned are OK.

My goodness Toby :(
I'm sorry to see the mess of your poor car :(
Hope the insurance goes along smoothly for you ;)

Thats a right state to say it was parked up. Mind if it is a write off then you can buy another Z, as i cant remember you having any claims on that :whistle:

The insurance while being a pain to deal with should be clear cut as far as you are concerned. Car parked and stationary. You have the video. Tell your insurer the other party that you will be reinstated as before the accident(s) and that if there is any issue on cost & value that you be seeking compensation for all in insured losses by whatever means. It isn't the market value you need but to be repaired or reinstated to the same position. Get some replacement valuations of potential cars ASAP. The costs include any hire car costs until they settle and sadly, I suspect that is a write off from a cost of repair. You shouldn't be penalised financially in any way because of a third party.
Would you consider buying it back to repair yourself?
Hope you get it sorted quickly.

Thanks for this info - its along the lines of my understanding. already looking at replacements re. value and no I wouldn't buy back and repair, because it then registers as a CAT D or C and makes the value a lot less. If insurance repair then its as good as not being in the accident.

Does reinstated include colour? As I'm considering buying similar and having a re spray as that Colour was a 3K option when new.
I can imagine this is going to drag due to the other claim circumstances, and the fool who caused it drives way virtually unscathed :depressed:

Agree with the Cat C/D - likely to be a C.
The driver at fault hasn't got away Scott free.
Make it clear to him that you will be going to court if necessary against him personally for anything your insurance doesn't cover. Get some legal opinion on what to do. Do you have any legal cover on your insurance? If so, talk to them.
You should be reinstated as before. That includes colour if that is important to you.

Yes I do have legal cover, so there could be some interesting times ahead then. The trouble is the person who hit me wasn't the real cause of the accident, and don't see why he should have to face any bills. Its the person who hit him initially I'd like to put through the wringer, do to his carelessness. Which it was, no excuse from him whatsoever - his passenger even said at the time that he said 'car' to him - and then said by then it was too late.

Cant get hold of anyone today at insurance co. So will have to wait until Monday.
