We are going to be using this, printed the year I was born. If the road is not on the map we are not using it.
 
Great idea. If I remember correctly Robbie Coltrane did a TV program a few years back called B Road Britain, very interesting.

I remember seeing that.
We are also going to try to only stay in hotels and inns that are in the book. Bet we don’t get 1955 prices though!
 
Always fancied doing something similar with my dad's atlas from the 50's. He had that in his car and used it until he stopped driving about 9 years ago :eek:.
 
Its a 40 minute drive from my childhood village (where my dear old Dad still lives) to Bristol, he likes to moan that fact that before the motorways and the Severn bridge how it was a 3.5 hour drive if the ferry wasn't operating, Well it took me over 2 hours the other day using the bridge and motorways, so not much has changed since the 60s really has it. =))=))
