So I'm totally stumped what to do next with my career. I've always had a nuclear background weather it be clean or not so clean. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade and did an apprenticeship in this discipline I'm even registered with the IET so I've even got letters after my name. The project I'm working on now Is nearing its end and has actually ended for me in terms of its mechanical element.

So at the moment I'm part manager part technician and sit on the fence between the two, I know the money is good continuing down the management route but It's not me. I have many qualifications but just don't know what to do next. I live by the philosophy that if you enjoy your job you don't work a day in your life.

So the time has come to move onto something new and I'm stuck as what to do. Help!

You can be my nanny, when the kids are asleep (doesn't happen often) you get to rip up Z3s!

Didn't realise it was so close to finishing mate. Open your own garage specialising in German stuff. You know it inside out, you'd make a nice living.

"Joyce motor worx"
"Specialists in all things German" :racecar::racecar::racecar:

Do the techie stuff, turbos, superchargers, suspension upgrades etc.

As glorious as it looks I've heard mixed things working for F1 teams. Long unsociable hours and lots of travelling.
would have been fine before you got married, but yes the time spent away from home in F1 must be horrendous.

I knew a lass I worked with on the lorries that went to drive for F1 on the tyres. It cost her her marriage.

Lee chase the money for another few years, your still young you will have plenty of time for a change later, build that retirement pot up first. (DISCLAIMER: Just my opinion and I would like to point out there are other opinions out there to choose from and there is no obligation to take any notice of what I recommend :))

If I were you I would take home the cash at work, try move to a 4 day week and do something you really like for that other day - I quite fancy becoming a mechanic (Z3 obviously) and would love to do a 1day a week course!
