Anyone know where I can get a new one?
Mechanic can only get from bmw dealer from Germany . They only come in pairs (300$) . Any suggestions for aftermarket?
Also I have a line on new rims and tires and wondering if they will fit?

Hi and welcome from London, you can get a complete set of eibach lowering springs for less. As for the wheels it depends on the width and offset.

Hello and welcome to the forum. It's best practice to change springs as a pair and I'd check out Ebay if I were looking for some. As for the wheels, you need to be aware of the ET measurement of your wheels. The 19" dia wont be a problem

Hi @Z3 3.0, :welcome: to the forum from me too in Staffordshire, UK. If your car is on Sport suspension and you don't want to go lower (with the Eibachs), I'm afraid the only option is the dealer. Ask me how I know:whistle:
You need to know the offset of your proposed wheels, the 'ET' number then you can try the online tool 'will they fit'. Good luck;)

Welcome from Ireland! You will get help from any UK supplier of springs and alloys - google search with keywords UK which will return useful sites. Good luck!

Hi, welcome from Mansfield - UK.

I've put Eibach springs all round on mine. Very happy. Cost me about £140 for the set.

It will lower the car an additional 15mm from your current sports suspension height.

Thanks to everyone for the wisdom .
What are the votes to lower or not to lower?
They already sit so low. Once lowered how are they over train track, pot holes, going into driveways ect.

I can't understand why as soon as some people get a Zed they feel they have to lower it. Would you lower a BMW 507? or a Lamborghini Miura? Or fit spacers to them?
I know it's a freedom of choice, but to me lowering and sticking spacers on the huge wheels some fit spoils the overall flowing looks of the
Z3. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the wheels, which are out of proportion to the rest of the car. (I have 17"x 8" Wheels which I think look just right!)
I have fitted a Strong Strut Butt strut to my standard height rear suspension ( a good improvement with the body braces and front strut) and, with the state of the roads It bottoms out sometimes, but it gives a good ride/handling balance.

Don't get me started on ///M badges on non ///M cars!

I agree with what you are saying .
I do like mine to be as close to original as possible .
As far as rims and tire the originals I have are weather from the previous owner allowing it to sit outside and the tires have flat spots (vibrations at different speeds) the wheels I described are less than refurbishing the originals and have new run flat rubber on them . They just happen to be 19 in instead of 17 .
Thanks ,
Newbie
