Hello to you all, thank you for some fascinating reading and information. I thought it's about time I joined in and gave my appreciation.
I've owned my 97 Zed 2.8 just a year now, and decided now, when it's the ideal driving weather, to undertake some maintenance.
I've replaced the knackered mirror posts, thank you GazHyde for your post, with the X8R alternatives, the originals were just too far gone.
Now, here's my problem, I managed to break both mirror glass trying to unclip them and I ordered a pair off eBay, but, they have different backing plates, return now, all the other stores seem to be the same. If I can remove the old glass from the plates, hot air and thinners, I'll be able to stick new glass.
In the meantime I have replaced the front pads, EDC Ultimax, and given the calipers a coat of BMW badge blue.
I have read the doom and gloom regarding brake fluid problems, I need to replace a rear brake pipe, so I'll be contemplating that job with my tame chap nearby to stick a finger in the dyke if necessary.
If I have some spare time I have just bought a mk3 golf GTi, oh well!
Eric
