What Garry is referring to are the big rubber manifold connectors about 4" Dia. from the air filter to the throttle body to the manifold. A way to trace these leaks is to spray them with Carb. cleaner or even Clutch/Brake cleaner while the engine is running. Listen for increase in revs.

Tony.
Thanks Tony

Does you car have much of a service history? I have found Z3s ultra reliable, with proper care.

Hi and welcome from Australia...... good luck in getting your Zed playing nicely and without the need of the AA.

Hi from Mansfield. I've just had my crank and cam sensors changed on my 2.8. Certainly cured a lot of bad running issues. Also looking at the large rubber pipe into the maf. Mine split a couple of years ago and it kept stalling and ran poorly.

Thanks for that, I haven't had chance to look at it yet, new battery cured the non start issue, it's just a touch lumpy at base idle, I assume this isn't normal, aside from that it's fine, drives perfect, just had too much on to get to it
