Hi Matt, welcome from me near Lincoln. The sills may be repairable but they are still available from the Dealers if not. Fiji is a great colour for an Individual. Where are you located please?

Tony.

Hi Tony !!! thanks for the reply !.. I'm from Portsmouth,..yeah I've seen the sill linings and everything else unbolts..not sure if the sills are too far gone to repair locally, they were an advisory last year..

Looks like it’s had it’s day then mate, however the inner sills hopefully will be in better condition. There’s been a few threads about sill replacement lately so you will find some info. One good thing about a Z4, you don’t have this worry.

Tony.

The outer sills are not a testable item Matt, so an advisory is unfair unless they were just making you aware of it. The inner sills are the structural part of the side of the car, the outer is just “bodywork”.

other little jobs were to replace the cracked centre console and switch plate..managed to glue the rear window back in by sandwiching the plastic between the stitching as it's the stitched type not the zipped type

That doesn’t matter mate ALL the outer panels are “bolt on” so you can get them painted and fit them yourself.

Quite often they’re like that, but when cleaned of the surface rust and treated with appropriate products they are sound. I’ll try to find some threads and post links later.
