Hi Guys,

Found the site after someone kindly put a card under my wiper. I would have been good knowing earlier as I have been doing work on the car and figuring it out as I go. Just finished fitting a Supersprint cat back exhaust to my Zed and i'm very pleased with it, had a bit of a job to do it involving a chop saw due to it being a single piece front to back rather than split.

Anyway nice to know you guys are here. Will be posting about rattle or vibration noise i have in the engine bay when the engine is cold, I have a feeling it may be the chain tensioner/guides and i'm hoping its not the VANOS.

The Vanos can be a little rattly at times on startup, but you are likely OK if it settles down - not likely to explode any time soon! Worth posting up a thread as you've said, and perhaps a video taken on your phone when you start it up! A recording of the supersprint exhaust would be nice too

Hi and welcome form leics/warks border glad somebody took the time to zorg you and that you joined up.
Quickest way to tell if it is tensioner or vanos disconnect the serpentine belt and run it briefly and see if the noise goes away.
