Newbie from NZ, 2.8 that needs some TLC

Hi, I’ve just bought a 2000 Z3 2.8 auto. VIN LC67878. It’s my first BMW and replaces a 92 MX5 I sold a year ago.

Pics attached. It’s done 130,000 km and issues with interior leather peeling, and a patch of peeling paint on the bonnet.

It’s only got one key and one Fob, and I’ll be going over to the relevant part of the forum to ask for some help in getting a spare fob. I’ll search first but photobucket issues may have rendered threads useless.

Hmmmm bit more difficult to add a pic than I thought, I’ll try again.....not sure if this the right way to do it tho.

Had a work mate left for your shores a few years ago now, he lived in a place called Lower Hutt if I remember right on the South Island, his missus worked on the (one of) ferry between the Islands. He worked at a Honda dealership doing WOFs (same/similar to our M.O.T. yearly inspection.) He left for Queensland up in Aus some while ago.

I lived in Lower Hutt until a couple of years ago, I’ve probably met him, it’s not a big place nz! I’ve used the Wellington/Picton ferry’s a fair bit, in fact I used the ferry to get the z3 back to its new home.

As you may have guessed from my user name I’m from the uk, mainly living in the north west London area. I moved to nz in 1999.
