Hi all, I found the .net site first and have jumped between the two, but thought I should register here as the site has a more modern feel I think. Both have been excellent for advice mind.

So I bought a 98 2.8. Has had some mods already, please feel free to advise improvements.

Things in process are:

Lowering springs, what to go for ?

Handbrake upgrade (as I have a matching leather cover to fit) what to go for ?

Just received steering wheel from Royal Steering Wheels this week, details will follow next week.

Here's some pics:

I've fitted the new steerig wheel but haven't taken a pic yet, here is the interior with the original...

Stable minus my wifes C class

Hi Brian,

Well how do you do :)

I'm toying with putting staggered 18's on instead of the 17's I already have. Would these springs still be ok do you think ?

Should be no problem at all as long as your 18" have the correct offset. I believe other members are currently running this type of setup. My springs will be free in the next week or so if you are interested?

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the welcome.

Here's a pic of the wheel as the box was openned. I've fitted it but it is absolutely teaming it down here today, so a pic of it insitu will have to wait.

Perforated leather at the sides with nappa soft top and bottom. Red stitching to match interior.

Hi KitKat,

I dont really know, they were on the car when I bought it. I do know they are the correct J rating for 17's.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell us both !

Not lower units but a full set of adjustable coilovers :), Crieff is not too far from me and often through in that direction.

Thanks BMBabe, it was a combination of the red hood and quad exhaust which caused me to buy the car. I was very close to buying a cheaper 3.0 but the colour combo and exhaust note hooked me.

Welcome, nice colour combo, the springs Brisn had are brilliant, you need to match these with some Bilstein B8 dampers though for a fantastic ride, I have this setup fired with 18" wheels and no problems

Hi Zedonist,

Thanks for the welcome. I'll hopefully meet up with Brian next weekend at some point and then get the wheels the following. It I may just refurb my wheels and see how it goes from there. Still undecided.

It all depends on the reasons you are lowering, if it's for handling improvements, then I would not lower first I would fit the H&R Anti Roll Bars first, this will give a massive improvement in handling above what you will get from lowering, that said lowering with decent components will complement
