New Z3 Owner

just bought a 2003 Z3 and it obviously needs some work that I cannot wait to get stuck in on. Got one issue that I might need advice on it though. My speedo is not working, everything else on the dash works, any suggestions on what might be causing this?

My speedo did it only once, but it zeroed itself during drive, then slowly got back up to current speed.
I see why they say it's a gremlin that could fit by itself.
