No, but I does allow the engine to rev to the red line before changing up and gives a little "engine braking" effect as you slow down. You can select or deselect Sport anytime.

Worth trying a battery battery charger firstly and move on from there.
Sport button makes the gearbox hold the gears to higher revs before changing up. Sorry no thrusters

ps. What's the aftermarket red LED on the centre console for?
Is it possible the car had an aftermarket alarm/immobilized fitter at some point? If so that could explain the non starting if the battery has been allowed to go dead flat.

Good question ! I hadn't noticed that ( dont get the car until Wednesday) will def get the other half to check that out.

Check all keys and take pictures when you get them and show us.
Look under the bonnet and look for any aftermarket alarm sounders/sirens. Look for Cobra or
Sparkrite etc. brands (ie. non genuine)
stuff.

Hi and welcome to the forum. A interesting fault to diagnose and some detective work done already. Can you get a photo of underneath the bonnet to see what alarm system is fitted. On mine the oem is fitted on the passenger side of the bulkhead.

Have got a couple of pics of underneath the bonnet but can't see anything obvious (although no idea what I'm looking for lol) Don't worry it won't be me checking it when it arrives...leaving that to the other half ;-)

sounds to me like an earth cable problem first thing to do is check the earth cable in the boot from the battery to the boot floor if ok go under bonnet and look for the earth cables there ,hope this helps

If you have a set of jump leads you can isolate the main engine earth as a potential issue by connecting a jump lead fron the engine block to the earthing point at the front suspension top mount.

ive seen many bm,s with corroded cables thats the down fall to a battery in a boot
