Ok, so I posted a few comments about having bought the cheapest private plate which ended up blowing up in my face, so it is with hesitancy that I say, I may just have got the allow wheel deal of the month !

I posted a wanted Ad on here a few weeks back for black 18's with a polished lip. I was looking for second hand wheels and tyres, as after having just had the bumper reprayed to fill in the registration plate holes, and numerous other wee purchases and improvements, along with the pending rebirth of my Hillman, I wanted to keep costs down. I was also in no hurry.

Browsing eBay last night I spotted wheels in a breakers yard, with tyres that had clocked up less than 400 miles. I quickly called the guy, he was first class, I got to talking to him about the forum etc and he immediately hung the ohone up, nah ;) he immediately closed the listing and I went to his yard first thing this morning.

So, these were what was on the car....

Wait for it...... The yard was only 15 minutes from my house, 4 nearly new tyres and 4 Beyern mesh wheels later, I gave him the full asking price .......................£275 !!!

I've been out in the car for an hour, they're perfectly balanced and I just love the look of them. Exactly what I wanted. Now I'll just need to fit the coil-over kit. (I'll wait for Lee's "how to" on Dino's car to be posted before I attempt that.)

So what do you think ???

I've measured and I need 20mm spacers on the back. Whats the best ones to get?

Well spotted Lex , they look great, but I would say that. I can send a link to the spacers I got if you'd like, but they were in California. At least give you something to compare?

Tony.

Dave, we spoke previously re my 17" wheels being the offset you desired. I'd be happy to gift them to you if you want them?
That's really good of you but I'm gonna stick with mine now. After having them referbbed and the tyres are like new. Plus THE WIFE had a dicky fit when I told her I was going to change them cos she's always liked the wheels.
Thanks again that's a lovely offer. :)

Hi @mini, now that Dave has declared himself out, I'd be happy to gift them to you. They're 17's all 8jj ET40.

One barely legal tyre, 2 usable and one brand new budget tyre.

First loosing money on a number plate and now giving stuff away?

Proof would be in the (black) pudding I guess, that is if you came and looked up my kilt. ;)

In all honesty HT, i've been taken aback with the excellent atmosphere on this forum, it promotes good will.

If someone can benefit from the wheels then I will benefit too.
