That's a good idea Hugh. I've seen another set on eBay 245/45/18 all round, refurbished Satin Black with Pirelli P Zero's fitted - £350 not far from Telford. That other set you found £220 plus £360 for a refurb plus another£400 for tyres, that's best part of £1000. Whereas the Satin black ones would go straight onto the car. Hmmm

Sorry missed that there where two threads running and i think i confused the two .
As said looking at that the fit should be fine the only difference to @miller1098 is the 2.8 is wider at the rear but normally most have to space 15-20 mm further to get the wheel to look full on the arch but you will not need too

Yep not that I know without trying but I have room for spacers with 255's on

The problem I'm having with working out if they will fit is the narrower rear end on the early 1.9's. Don't know enough about them to say for sure. Will without any doubt fit all other Z3's...

Rear track of the early 1.9 is 1427 - 1439mm depending on choice of wheels from the handbook, if that helps?

As I said at the beginning of this thread, I'm looking for new wheels. Well @miller1098 kindly suggested that I could try the MV1's off Sarah's car for size as we weren't sure what would fit as my Zed is a preface lift 1.9
The day started at 08:30 when I left Llantwit Major and headed towards Carno Mid Wales with the roof up as it was a miserable day. By 11:00 I was at Hugh's as he was just coming out the house to get some fuel for Sarah's 2.8, I got to drive, first time in a 2.8, must admit it was very nice driving a six cylinder, nice to have some power under your right foot. Before we started there was tea and bacon sandwich which went down very well, Thanks Sarah.
We then got on with the job in hand, put it this way, we'll never get a job With a F1 Team pit crew. I must admit that I was a bit anxious that these wheels would fit as Gaz had already worked out the likely scenarios with MV1 wheels 225/40/18 at the front and 245/40/18 at the rear, fronts would fit fine but not too sure about the rears. Well the wheels on Sarah's car were 225/40/18 on the front but 255/40/18 on the rear, I was certain they wouldn't fit.
Hey presto....... It fits a treat and they look good.

What do you think?

We had to have a test drive, very surprised, much better ride than my original wheels, great on corners.

So the question is, what do I go for 245 or 255 on the rear.

BMW would have fitted as standard 255/35/18 rear and 225/40/18 front, so I'd run with that personally.

Car looks great by the way, and with that narrow backside of yours no need for spacers to fill the arches

35's on the back? now that I've driven with 40's on the back I'm tempted to go with that, thoughts?

Looks great mate, can't comment on the 245's but the 255's on mine are OK.

The profile is a percentage of the width which is why they have a lower profile on the rears.

Doubt it's an issue if you go with 40, just letting you know how they would have left the factory

Agree with the 255/35 scenario. All the 18" wheels i know of on peoples zeds are that set up
