New Toy at Pingu Towers

I was just joking about that Gary because of all the sharp edges etc. on Steve's picture. Will.follow this with intetest mate. Hope all goes well.

Tony.

I'm new to all this, and I'm surprised that I only need an MOT.

I was planning changing the interior, but there could be issues with that.

I really need to be able to talk to someone (or PM) who knows what they are talking about, as the official line is not what I want to hear (nor what I have seen :wideyed: )

Looking forward to seeing this....

Depends what you plan to do to it. If you change the chassis in anyway you will need a test.

Theres some really good threads on Pistonheads about it at the moment.

The monocoque is not going to be changed. I've been speaking to DVLA, insurers and MOT testers all day. As you can imagine, there is a lot of differing opinion, but I think that I am getting to the bottom of it.

I've PM'd several people about this project, including ukcerb on PH.

Hi there,

You going down a Tribute route ? Or another rebody or other?

Watching with interest too. An M based kit will be an absolute beast.

Did you get onto Madabout in the end ?

Dave

Tribute - not sure yet.

M - It causes some problems that other Zs don't have, but I've plans in place to sort them.

Madabout - not yet, but @jaguartvr is going to e-mail the administrator and I hope to be on there soon :D

Good stuff on the Tribute. The new Aston-ish model will be interesting but not sure when it will hit.

The Fxxxx models were cool but annoyingly unavailable currently. I really liked the new model marketed by Old No7 but that’s gone quiet too. Good luck with whatever you choose. I’m on Madabout and the FB Tribute group so will see you around those too.

Trip to Stoneleigh on the cards ? We had a few Tribute owners turn up last year so you get to meet and discuss pros and cons etc

I like my Kobra but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. And the 2.2 is peppy in that body. An M would be very interesting/scarey/smile inducing.

With absolutely no offence intended here, will a lighter bodied care be even more "exciting" than a standard ///M which looks as though it was
on the edge of dangerous, or was it operator error?

Tony.

Very good point Tony.

Im happy with my 2.2 to be honest (although a 2.8 would be nice)

Easy to do if you need a hand your only down the road :)

The thought of an M being lighter excites me, they are a little bulky in standard form.

Lee, stop it man

I get the impression that you can get anything from Chris, but Ian and Belle are very twitchy. As I & B provide the technical support, I think it's better to stick with what they provide.

I want to go done to their place, but they are VERY hard to get hold of and I don't fancy a 300 mile trip just to see a locked building:wideyed:. It's not called a cottage industry for nothing. It's feels like it's like Spain, but without the sun and sangria.

Stoneleigh is in the calendar. Do you go on Saturday or Sunday, or both? It's a cracking drive for me, so I might do both if it's worth it. Anything that involves the Fosse Way is .

I'm still waiting for the madabout admin team to contact me. Once they do, I can have a proper look at the site (especially the images).

The metaphorical chair has certainly been pulled up for this one. Looking forward to seeing this. Hope it's a blast to do the work as it's some project.

If your not aware mate that is @bertiejaffa old car. It had an incidental on the Scottish cruise.
Not strictly true Dave, Lee had his incident on his way home:whistle:

Sorry, being a pedant again, but old habits die hard=))

Hi Tony

It was very wet and between 20-30 mph pulling away from lights on a dual carriageway. We had spent the weekend doing some very VERY spirited driving as anyone who was on the Scottish trip would confirm. If I had lost it at any point over the weekend I would accept it and consider it as "user error" but this was just either very wet or some spillage on the road.
