Hi,
Not long had my zed so I have a few questions.

1.Cant see milage lcd no back light. Service interval lights light up then all lights dark. The backlight for speedo etc works, but if I switch headlights on, no light to tell me they are on.
2. Water temp never goes higher than middle, but on a run stays half way between cold and middle. (Someone said to me it could be head gasket. Oil and water seem fine.)
3. Electric mirrors don't work.
4. Anyone got a front Strut brace they don't want for 1.9?
5.i changed the air filter on the standard air box, all the foam seemed loose, should I take it out and chuck it?
6.Seat moves,as to be expected. Solved that with a g clamp! Any one want to fix it for me ?

Paintwork is a bit rough, anyone know how much it roughly costs for a re spray?

Thanks and Cheers
Paul

Welcome on board :)

1. The clusters are easy enough to remove if you have checked the fuses. Couple of screws and it comes out.
2. Temp gauge will sit smack bang in the middle when running. If it never gets to the middle then it could be the thermostat. Head gaskets can be an issue on the 4 pots, but more likely to give you symptoms of overheating.
3. Check fuses, and also that they are actually plugged! Previous owners have been known to do stupid things. A chance the switch may have failed, but shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement.

:welcome: May be a stupid question but have you checked fuses. The cluster i believe has more than one.
Engine temp sounds like the thermostat is stuck opened and it over cools in motion.
The seat requires a new set of bushes they can be brought in from @Aceman
Info here.

Hi
Thanks for reply.checked fuses all there and appear to be ok. Did not have multimeter to check 100%.
Ok on thermostat, as it never goes over middle but as soon as into a run drops. Does the fan go on when you stop?never heard mine.
Bushes hmm I know.

Hi, maybe worth just getting a replacement cluster from @spurs fan in a coupe or @Synclare if they have one.
Temp issue I'd be inclined to agree with Ant and Gaz on the thermostat.
I had a full respray done 2 years ago and paid £2000 cash no vat. But you get what you pay for as I'm now finding out.

mine had dim or virtually impossible to see mileage, bulb had blown. mine very rarely reaches half way on the temp, sits about 1/4 of the way, think its a stuck thermostat.

£2000 isn't cheap now days. I was shocked when I started shopping and £2500-3000 was the going rate but I did a deal for cash with no vat.
Yep easy job to change. Think Gaz explained how a few posts higher up the thread.
