Thank you all for your welcome, I see that this forum covers all corners of the world from your responses.
The spending has started - a cracked headlamp has been replaced, the panel behind the front numberplate
was missing a clip and has been replaced, two part worn Contis on the front.
Over the winter I hope to sort out the sticky windows and the heater blower fan (only works on 4 ).
In preparation for refurbing the alloys, I saw a set of alloys for sale locally with good tyres for £70
- the wheels are not brilliant but the tyres are, they will do for when the main wheels are off being painted.
They were relatively cheap because I live in Gwynedd, North Wales which is a fair old hike for somebody
to come down to collect.
I look forward to picking your brains soon.

Sticky windows likely need silicone lubricant in the channels, heater blower likely needs a new "hedgehog". All relatively cheap fixes.
Enjoy your car.

the heater blower fan (only works on 4 ).
Most likely the heater fan resistor failed, usually only blows on max. speed when they pack up. Easy job to do though.

Tony.
