Been waiting a long time for the right Z3. Was not interested in an M Coupe, as I hope my wife will also enjoy driving this, and keep the "extra car dream" alive for the household. 2002 with 3K miles, 5-speed, came up at a dealer in Akron a couple weekends back. I went in on Monday and bought it. Lots of questions which I will do some research first, but definitely have loose seat rails, bushings, or something on the driver side. Wheels are not original, but I think they look pretty good and are in pristine condition. Long list of things to do.

BMWCCA member, current DD is 2018, 340xi auto. Had couple wagons, and other 3's, including 2006 M3, no longer with me. Looking forward to finding my way around the forum.

Hi @C_Craig, welcome from me near Lincoln UK. That's a fine looking car you've found. Where are you located please?

Tony.

Hi and welcome from London. You are correct the seats have little bushes that disintegrate over time and course the seats to “rock” under braking and accelerating.

Thanks all. Is this primarily a Euro forum? See a lot of Brits. I'm in the US, Chagrin Falls, Ohio to be exact.

I've only heard about seat bushings, and haven't looked yet. The drivers side seat is loose on the tracks, most noticeable on hard braking, so maybe something mechanical. Passenger side is fine.

Interested in hard tops. Some available here. Anything to watch for/avoid?

Thanks,

Craig
