Hi All,
I’ve just booked my Zed into Jack Smith in Swansea for a new roof on the 10th May. Decided to go for a blue one to replace the black one currently fitted which has lasted well, 21 years in October. He recons it’ll take the best part of the morning to do and cost £300, bargain, and only 40 miles away. Can’t wait.

Fortunately I don't need a new roof yet. I was in Pembrokeshire last year for a holiday so would probably do that again when new roof needed

Being in North Somerset, Swansea would be a nice drive out :) However I have family near Croydon so have the option of both. Would be great to get peoples options on both fitters please.

I've used both and to be honest there is nothing between them really apart from pricing. Ones from Jack Smith have the relief pockets as standard, the ones from the Guy at Croydon don't unless you pay extra. He also charged extra for a red roof, but Jack Smiths will do any colour for the same price, he tends to be busier also and there is a wait to book in. Whichever one you choose you will get top quality and a fantastic service. Only difference I found was an extra few quid in my wallet.

Many thanks for the info. Great to have someone with experience of both! Does that include new seals in the price too?

No new seals I'm afraid, just the canvas and rear window including fitting. As far as I know you can only get new seals from BMW and last time I had a quote for the 3 around each window it was around £200 per side from what I remember.

As @gookah said windows are stitched in, and at that price you could afford to change it every few years instead of spending money on roof proofing and cleaning products. Ten days to go and looking forward to it.
