Bloody hell. How can peoples prices be so different? Does nobody keep an eye on the market they are working in? 
Depends, if people are the only ones about then they can charge what they want.

Looks like jack smiths for me got 2 weeks holiday booked for Easter will book something for then and make a weekend of it

Because people are still willing to pay it.
Best way to get them to drop prices is make them wonder why no one is buying off them anymore.
Thats what I have always said about fuel prices and blockades. Garages just know you will have to come back when you run low on fuel
Best way is that everyone boycotts one manufacturer, they lose trade, we still get goods from their competitors, so no queues, we send that manufacturer a message. they have to lower their prices to get people back and then we use them again whilst boycotting the next one.
Car booked in for new roof at jack smiths Saturday 8th April just looking for accommodation will be able to do cots wolds cruise as well and make a weekend of it and still be in pocket 
its nice having a new roof fitted, my cars roof was quite tatty, the guy from stockport did mine, came down to my place of work and did it, cost £600, but did a very good job, even painted my roof frame, the roofs been great, car is used a lot, including winter, and 35,000miles later roof is still great
Thanks for this, looks like his prices have increased £710 for mobile fitting now. Confirmed Stockport for me

Just looked at this thread. When I had an MX5 and was in that club there were a lot of articles about new tops in the monthly magazine.
The place at Stockport was not the cheapest, but always had a very good write up, both from people not too far away who had the work done at home as well those who took their cars in.

the guy from stockport came to huthwaite junc 28m1, to do mine, i was very busy with work at the time, so them doing the job at my place of work was most welcome, he spent quite some time doing it, and having a quick look at various points made me realise it was not something i would willingly do myself, and once completed, as i said looked great, only downside was having to leave the roof up for a week to allow it to settle, the cost i think was worth it, my car lives outside, tho i do use a hood cover in the winter months when practicle.
Your car will look better with its new top, it also motivated me to do other cosmetic jobs that made my car look good.
