Anyone used "The soft top shop (Stockport) looking at a new roof for the Z, these look closest to me.

Ooh be interested to know mate as I'm not far off getting mine done. Are you going black or blue? I'm going blue.

@Faheem did me a pic with both colours on the roof but I can't find the thread now. Thought you might be interested as we have the same colour pap pap. :D

@Paul Rice you want to be very careful when choosing the place. I've had my roof fitted at a place called Car Hood Warehouse in Chessington, however, I was a little disappointed with the final product. The fitting and customer service was fine but the actual material felt a little thinner than the original.

I'm sure that it will last a few years but I'm very doubtful that it would outlast the original. Yes, the car probably won't last another 20 years but if it were to, the roof fitted definitely would not last.

Has Blue at the moment although a bit dark, definitely Blue again.

The roof they advertise (On EBay) is genuine Mohair and has the relief flaps, only possible future drawback as i can see, rear window stitched in mine is zipped.

How much mate if you don't mind me asking? Pm me if you'd prefer.

There is a place in Swansea that people rave about on FB, he only charges £350 fitted, bit of a drive though.

Is that Mohair Sean? It's a fair price if it is but like you say Swansea is a good trek.

With Vents in Black or Blue £650 Ebay or £660 on there own site, £710 mobile but think that's just Manchester area. Its cheaper without vents They state they can do the job in the day and that they are within walking distance of all that Stockport has to offer. Must only take about 30 minutes to fit then :D

That's quite expensive mate. I'd shop about before you commit.

Just been looking on eBay and the price Paul quoted is actually right for a Mohair. I assume the guy in Swansea is doing the cheaper hoods but that would be more in my price range. If like Sean says people rave about his work then that would possibly be my option if I can't find a more local supplier at similar money.

I have seen mohair hoods as cheap as £250 if your going to fit yourself, thats what I will do when the time comes.
Bit beyond me I reckon mate. I'll have to pay the price to get one fitted.

Just updated my journal about Jack Smiths roofs, had one fitted just before Christmas. Top quality, £300 fully fitted. He did say to me he now makes his own to the same quality as OEM whereas he used to get them from BAS, as most other sellers do. They charge around £280 and then the extra costs are all down to fitting. He is cheaper because he makes them up instead of buying them directly and doesn't rip people off with fitting charges, hence why he is so busy.
