I have a eep_2 error with no tach, temp, fuel or odo. Former owner says it has been doing this on and off and says may be fuse box related but I dont think so. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Issue with the instruments can be caused by the wiring getting damaged behind the instrument bin. There is a section of the harness which can rub against one of the supports.
It's relatively easy (although fiddly) to remove the instrument bin to inspect them, if you are ok with a screwdriver! It's a couple of screws and can then be carefully slid out without taking the steering wheel off. You can then inspect the wiring.
There are of course other potential causes such as a faulty instrument cluster!
I think if you have to replace the instrument cluster especially with a second hand one then the highest reading between the ecu and new cluster will be displayed but there will also be a tell tale dot on the digital display which indicates there is mileage discrepancy between the two.
Well I found absolutely nothing wrong with connectors or wiring behind the cluster. Also just got a Bav Tech kit and it will not connect to any modules whatsoever, so I guess my problem goes pretty deep, off to the dealer next week.
