I added a new radio to my Z, Kenwood KMR 7690 and SeriusXm. Took a bit of time to find one that matched as close as possible to the interior of the Z.

When I got the Z, the previous owner removed all the BMW badges and replace them with these Alpina;

I was thinking of removing them as, from doing a search online, this would mean performance were done, but they were not. I guess he added it just for looks. what do you think?

If you like the Alpina badges Dennis then you keep them. It's your car. Loads of people fit ///M badges to non ///M cars so it's no different really.
New radio looks great too :beer

So that's who was following me doing 90 in a 45. :whistle:=))=)):beer
Ha,ha. Nice one Dennis. We often have a joke on here about the "///M Police" chasing down members who's car sport the ///M badges when not an ///M car!!

So, it pretty obvious to me, being a newbie and reading the internet, that my Z isn't boosted by Alpina. But, how does one know if a Z is not an ///M without the vin?

The ///M models are 3.2 liter engines Dennis and look totally different to the "normal" 6 cylinder motors in all other cars. Many have ///M badging on the wheels, steering wheel gear stick etc. but these don't denote the car is an ///M model.

Have you checked your car VIN through a decoder to see what it left Spartanburg with when it was new?
