Hello there - Mike (and Kira) in Washington DC joining. Just picked up a Black over Tan1996 Z3 with 88k miles on it. Looks and drives great but needs some repairs to the stereo, and the interior doors on both sides.

I am looking forward to using this forum as a resource and documenting the work as we go.

Thanks!
Mike

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. Is everyone here from the UK?

Any advice on the following:

  • seats shifting around a bit
  • door pull handles not connected to the door
  • Roll bar install
  • Stereo improvement or replacement

My car doesn't have a roll bar but I'd like one and a wind guard if possible

You may find someone stateside who breaks Z3s Mike or you could ask someone here to pack and send the stuff you need (which includes rear trim etc.) Seat bushes are common and there videos in YouTube which shows how to fit them. In fact YT is a mine of useful information.
You can repair the door pulls by removing the door cards and repair on the inside out of sight.
There are a few stereo upgrade threads on here too.

Tony.

Awesome, thanks Tony. I am looking forward to learning and tinkering. I've had BMW bikes for over a decade, but this is my first car. I hope its as easy to work on as my old Airheads.
